Receiving clerks are individuals that works in warehouses or other facilities charged with the responsibility of receiving, inspecting and transferring deliveries. You’ll handle the loading and offloading of shipments, effectively tracking and inspecting of deliveries as well as the proper sorting and arrangement of deliveries

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receive and unload packages from incoming shipments
  • Handle and document invoices
  • Open boxes and inspect content of shipments
  • Organize and store received supplies in appropriate areas
  • Reject damaged items, record shortages and correspond with shipper to rectify damages
  • Verify packages according to order and invoices
  • Update the product inventory as products are received
  • Maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control
  • Maintain inventory of shipping material and supplies
  • Addresses and answers customer inquiries about shipment
  • Operate machinery to move and convey material
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly conditions and follow safety regulations

JOB SKILLS AND REQUIREMENT

  • High school diploma
  • Capable of meeting the job physical demand
  • Good attention to details
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Superb organization and management skills
  • Previous warehouse experience
  • Capable of lifting heavy objects
  • Superb time management and analytical skills
  • Computer skills and knowledge of data entry
