A book keeper is an individual that effectively handles record of financial transaction and generates reports from that information. The bookkeeper record financial data into a general ledge which is used to produce income statement. As a bookkeeper, you’re required to have exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain an accurate day to day record of financial transactions
- Verify that transaction are recorded in the day book
- Enter data, maintain record and financial statements
- Process account and handle payroll in a timely manner
- Maintain general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries
- Monitor office supply levels
- Track and maintain inventory records
- Monitor any variances from the projected budget
- Issue invoices to customers
- Ensure that receivables are collected promptly
- Record payments, cash receipts, prepare checks and make bank deposits
- Maintain an orderly accounting filling system
- Follow accounting policies and procedures
JOB SKILLS AND REQUIREMENT
- Bachelor Degree in finance related field
- Able to prepare and understand a financial statement
- Keen attention to details
- Problem solving skills
- Good communication skills
- Data entry skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft office and excel
